About Lauren

Lauren Brown, Principal Designer & CEO of A Designers Touch by Lauren is a vibrant, creative, multi-award winning, full service interior designer serving the High Country and  beyond for over 30 years. 

Lauren spent her youth in Japan where she was deeply influenced by the radiant cherry trees, the  peaceful koi ponds, and the serene beauty of nature, which are reflected in her career-long  affinity for biophilic, nature-inspired spaces. Today, her trademark and innovative designs impart a tranquil environment while lavishly linking elements of nature through color, water, and  light.  

Also, during her time in the Orient, she was inspired by the vast outdoor markets where she  watched glass blowers create amazing vases, furniture makers build exquisite mahogany pieces, and silk rugs being hand knotted. Her appreciation for fine craftsmanship is evident today in the  partnerships she has cultivated with hundreds of the top Trades and Vendors in the Home  Industry both locally and nationally. 

Working for the leading and most respected furniture dealers in High Point and Hickory, North Carolina for  over 30 years, she has a mastery of knowledge of over 300 brands of high-end furnishings and  accessories. The mutual respect she has in the industry ensures her clients will receive first-class service throughout the entire design process, from concept to completion.

Lauren was awarded runner-up “Designer of The Year” by the President of Thomasville Furniture out of 350 designers Nationally.  Additionally, she was honored to be selected to mentor her colleagues in her District on the importance of authenticity and compassion in the design process.  Lauren’s innate ability to understand her client’s vision and her approachable design philosophy has resulted in a lifetime career of repeat clients and referrals. 

Internationally recognized, Lauren has served clients in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.  She is a certified International Designer and had the honor of designing three villas for the Sheik of Bahrain and his wife. They were so elated with her exquisite designs and exceptional service, she received a letter of commendation from the American Consulate on their behalf.

Lauren’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish her interior design firm, A Designer’s Touch  by Lauren, which has quickly become one of the leading luxury design firms in the High  Country. Her work has been featured in local and national publications such as Architectural  Digest, The Charlotte Observer, and American Lifestyle to name a few. She continues to be  featured on design podcasts across the United States, and was nominated for “Best New Business of the  Year” by The Boone Chamber of Commerce in 2020. 

Her approachable, authentic, and collaborative demeanor builds a special rapport, not only with  her clients, but also with the High Country’s outstanding tradespeople, builders, and  manufacturers. She, along with her design team, is committed to providing exceptional service  and outstanding design as she helps her clients achieve their dream home!
